Texas42.net Footnotes:
      1. Some Texas 42 players are disappointed because 42 was not designated the official State Game of Texas. How could the "National Game of Texas" not be the official State Game?
      2. According to a 1986 Houston Chronical Magazine article entitled "POKER The national game of Texas," the poker game, Texas Hold 'em, also originated in Texas.
      3. In 2007, the Texas legislature recognized Robstown, Texas as the birthplace of Texas Hold 'em. The history and text of the resolution are shown here: HCR 109 and Text.
      4. When its time comes, the Texas legislature should act prudently by designating Texas Hold 'em as the State Card Game of Texas (not the State Game of Texas).
